The Market Concpt for Open Broadband Networks

It started back in 2000 in Västerås, Sweden. It became a success story in just a few years. There where few or no cities that could match Vasteras in expanding the fiber net, connecting properties, providing a multitude of competing services as well as making money along the way.
eklundh.com had the opportunity to be a part of this success story as market consultants, responsible for advertising and communication, in close cooperation with Malarenergi (the community owned energy company) who built the new infra structure.
Other cities called upon us and asked if they could copy our brochures.
- No, we said, that is not a good idea. You need to take part of the strategies, the mind settings and the business models to be able to create success. So we set up a number of workshops and made them go through the same processes as we had, adapt them and make them their own. And then it worked.
Up to now we have done this in more than 30 cities in Sweden and Norway. The concept is very much alive. It adapts and improves with new experiences and with the ongoing changes in the market. Each city contributes to this development.
The Market Concept for open networks is a true and working shortcut to expansion, communication and success. Proven by many cities.
Today, many of these experiences and working tools has become a national standard for Open Broadband Networks in Sweden.
